Gloves
Hospital environment is highly contaminated with viruses, bacteria, and microorganisms which are present in the air, on frequently touched surfaces, and on the skin and clothing of patients. These microbes can reside on the surfaces for a longer time & act as a permanent reservoir for microbial buildup and spread. Disposable gloves worn by healthcare workers and doctors to prevent cross-contamination while examining the patients and to avoid direct contact with secretions & body fluids. In a hospital, environment cross-contamination can also be spread by touching contaminated surfaces including tabletops, door knobs, etc. Pathogenic microbes can be spread to doctors and healthcare workers while examining patients. These pathogenic microbes can reside on gloves and can be transmitted to other patients and workers. In a recent study, hands and gloves of 70% of healthcare professionals confirmed contamination with Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci (VRE).
Generally, gloves are worn by the workers to avoid cross-contamination but these gloves can harbor microbes for a longer time period and cause cross-contamination to the product and to the workers and cause the spread of infections.
Protector® Antimicrobial Latex Examination Gloves provide complete protection against Bacteria, Fungi, Algae, Mould, Mildew, and Yeast. It kills the microorganisms upon contact with the gloves thus reducing the risk of transmission of microbes and preventing the spread of infections.
